Trustees approved a road easement from Chalkaw Mountain LLC that enables town maintenance on Bonnet Trail Road and Loop access required to proceed with road work. The board then reviewed staff recommendations and approved multiple task orders with Benchmark Construction Services for inspection, construction management and materials testing tied to three resurfacing projects.
The board approved Task Order #6 (Benchmark) not to exceed $136,426.20, Task Order #7 for Old Hochatown Road inspection and testing not to exceed $72,613.49 (anticipated completion 05/16/2026), and Task Order #8 for Pinion Road inspection and materials testing not to exceed $89,268.35 (anticipated completion 05/31/2026). Staff explained the design and bidding timeline: engineering takes roughly two weeks, bidding a month, and construction durations were estimated at 30–45 days depending on contractor schedule and weather. Several trustees discussed timing relative to spring break and grant closeout deadlines in May.
