Commission outlines next steps for Litchfield Day 2027, guide distribution and volunteer coordination

The Economic Development Commission used its May 20 meeting to advance planning for several community events and outreach materials.
Tara‑Marie Lynch Bares reported that Parks & Recreation will collaborate on Litchfield Day 2027; timing is to be determined and Tara suggested an inaugural event on the Litchfield Green with music. The commission noted 1,000 copies of the new Litchfield guide were arriving the next day and assigned Lindsey Turner to help coordinate distribution. Missy Lafferty said she received information for staffing an information booth and will meet with Jessica to organize volunteers, using a shared sign‑up tool. Commissioners also discussed hosting a volunteer fair in coordination with LABA and Berta at the Community Center to recruit and organize volunteers.
The meeting adjourned at 8:19 PM; Tara motioned to adjourn and the motion was seconded. The vote was unanimous. The next regular meeting is tentatively scheduled for Wednesday, June 24 at 7 PM at the Bantam Annex.
