Board approves beer-and-wine license, operator for Friends with Food fundraiser

The board approved a one-day temporary alcohol license and a one-time operator's license for Sarah Roth on behalf of Southeast Wisconsin Emergency Support Group (doing business as Friends with Food) for an Aug. 1 fundraiser at Fox River County Park. Sarah Roth introduced herself and said the event will be family-friendly, include ticketed admission, activities, and limited alcoholic beverage service restricted to beer and wine.
"Just beer and wine," Roth said when trustees confirmed there would be no hard liquor. Trustees asked about the organization and clientele; Roth said Friends with Food is a choice food pantry on Grandview Avenue that has operated since COVID and that the event is a community fundraiser. After confirming required paperwork was in the packet, a trustee moved to approve the temporary license and another moved to grant Roth the operator's license; both motions were approved by voice vote.
