Lindsborg City staff reported that two fans on the east transformer at the substation were not working and that the fan-control unit needed replacement to meet brand-specific compatibility requirements.
KMEA provided a quotation of $5,725.00 for the Qualitrol fan control plus $543.88 in tax (total $6,268.88), with staff estimating about $1,500 in labor for installation. Radwell provided higher parts quotes of $8,238.30 and $9,860.55 that did not include tax or installation. Councilmember Lysa Palmer-Augusta moved to approve purchase and installation of the Qualitrol Fan Control from KMEA in an amount not to exceed $7,768.88; Councilmember Joshua Swanson seconded and the motion passed 7-0 by roll call vote.
The council action authorizes the parts purchase and installation; staff noted the equipment requires brand-specific controls to fit and function properly and that the selected option includes a two-year warranty.
