At its Dec. 15 meeting, the Lindsborg City Council elected Rebecca Van Der Wege as council president after an 8-0 voice vote. Councilmember Kirsten Bruce nominated Van Der Wege; the nomination was seconded by Councilmember Larry Lysell. Councilmember Tyler Johnson moved to cease nominations; that motion was seconded by Councilmember Andrew Smith and the nomination carried unanimously.
The election follows routine leadership organization at the council's year-end meeting. The council took no other leadership actions at the session. The meeting adjourned later that evening at 6:56 p.m.
