The council approved purchasing fire hose from Ed M. Feld Equipment Co. for $12,288.38 after staff reported the Rosenbauer pumper scheduled for 2025 delivery was delayed to 2026. The purchase will outfit the new truck and replace aging hose currently in service. Three bids were received; Ed M. Feld submitted the lowest bid, followed by Fire Hose Direct ($13,159.50) and FirePenny ($16,731.37).
Councilmember Blaine Heble moved to approve the purchase and Councilmember Kirsten Bruce seconded; the motion passed 8-0 by roll call vote. The minutes note the approved amount is $288.38 above the budgeted $12,000 for hose but record no additional budget amendment beyond the purchase approval.
Next steps: staff will complete procurement with Ed M. Feld and manage delivery and inventory for the pumper when it arrives in 2026.
