Finance Director Karen Kindle reviewed third-quarter financials, noting state law limits investment instruments and that Columbia Capital helps with cash projections for large projects. Utilities Superintendent Mike Mabrey reported 17 million gallons treated, 108,500 gallons of sludge removed in the quarter, more than 12.88 million gallons purchased, and a contractor malfunction during a county line tank inspection that caused a temporary low-flow condition and boil advisory; KDHE was notified and the issue was resolved.
Development Services Director Zach Moore reported 48 residential permits and one non-residential permit with a total permit valuation of $6,703,709 and a population estimate of 1,812; he also noted Maverik's convenience store and gas station near 199th & Homestead is expected to open in Q4 2025. Public Works Director Dan Merkh updated the council on the 2nd Street and Edgewood paving schedule, which is weather-dependent with notifications to follow.
