Council welcomes two new public works maintenance technicians; department reports fully staffed

Public Works Foreman Chase Forrester introduced new Maintenance Technician I hires Aidan Zawacki and Brian Lowe. Zawacki said he has lived in Edgerton his whole life and welcomed the training opportunities in concrete and asphalt work; Lowe said he had been on the job two weeks and appreciated the work environment. Public Works Director Dan Merkh said the department is currently fully staffed on the maintenance side and noted the hires come just in time for winter operations and additional snow and ice responsibilities.
Mayor Roberts offered personal remarks about the value of public works training and welcomed the new employees. Staff cautioned supervisors will continue training and oversight as the new hires gain experience, including safe operation of snowplows and winter equipment.
