Edgerton delays first KDHE loan payment for Dwyer Sewer Sites to 2027

Finance Director Karen Kindle told the council that Amendment No. 1 to the loan agreement with the Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) for Project No. C20 3097 01 would postpone the first payment from March 1, 2026 to March 1, 2027 because the project remains in progress. Kindle stated that the amendment does not change the loan amount or project scope.
Councilmember Clay Longanecker moved to approve the amendment and Councilmember Ron Conus seconded; the motion carried 3–0 (Longanecker, Lewis, Conus present). The amendment gives the city more time before beginning principal repayment while construction and project completion continue.
