The Lindsborg City Council approved, subject to Design Review Board approval, a Board of Zoning Appeals decision to allow The Bank of Tescott to place a 10-by-14-foot storage building in the northeast corner of its property with a three-foot setback from the property line. The bank had requested a two-foot setback; the BZA reduced that request to three feet. Councilmember Larry Lysell moved to approve the variance request contingent on the Design Review Board’s sign-off to streamline the permitting process because the Design Review Board had lacked a quorum at its previous meeting.
Staff said the building’s intent is to store seasonal items because the bank has outgrown its existing storage space. The council’s action preserves the Design Review Board’s role by requiring its approval before final permitting.
