The commission approved awarding the city's slugde hauling RFP (2026‑02) to Haack Environmental LLC, following the Utility Board's recommendation. Commissioner Tom Harding moved approval and Commissioner Tom DiFransico seconded; the motion passed unanimously.
Separately, Commissioner Harding presented the weekly wastewater sampling report for May 18, 2026, noting very low levels of COVID and no detections of RSV or influenza. Vice‑Mayor Doug Colonell also updated the commission on City Hall construction progress and discussed the sludge sampling, solids‑percent determination, drying process, and removal procedures with Operator Chris Haack.
The award secures contracted removal of sewage solids per the Utility Board's procurement schedule and the city will coordinate implementation with the operator and contractor.
