State and federal representatives present Liberty Medal, congressional recognition for Revere Grant
Summary
Representatives from the New York State Senate, the New York State Assembly and Congress offered official recognitions for Revere Grant at the July 21 ceremony: a Liberty Medal from the state senate, an Assembly recognition and a reading of the Congressional Record entry.
Several state and federal offices were represented at the ceremony to recognize Revere Grant. Ryan Agwam, district director for Senator Jim Tedisco, presented the New York State Senate Liberty Medal and a flag flown over the State Capitol, and Assemblyman Matt Simpson presented an Assembly recognition for Grant's service. David Lockhart, national historian of the American Legion, read remarks from Congresswoman Elise Stefanik that were entered into the Congressional Record on Grant’s behalf.
"On behalf of Senator Jim Tedisco, I'm going to present to you the Liberty Medal," Ryan Agwam said when presenting the senate recognition. David Lockhart read the congressional entry, saying in part, "Miss Stefanik of New York. Mister speaker, I rise today to honor the United States Army veteran, Revere Gear Grant." The presentation package included a certificate of authenticity for a flag that had been flown over the State Capitol.
