The council considered Resolution No. 07-2026 authorizing the issuance of refunding revenue bonds by KMEA for the Dogwood Energy Center Project. The original bonds were issued in March 2018 for a principal amount of $32,515,000 and are set to mature in April 2028. The KMEA Board approved the refunding via electronic ballot on March 6, 2026.
Staff told the council the refunding is estimated to save the five Dogwood-member cities a combined $235,000 per year, with Lindsborg’s estimated share of $91,806. Councilmember Andrew Smith moved to pass Resolution No. 07-2026 and the motion passed 5-0 by roll call vote.
