Anthony Nammauer (public commenter) said he had emailed the board a proposed Parental Bill of Rights that he described as having been adopted by two New Jersey towns and urged the board to adopt it unanimously. "Parents and guardians hold the essential and most natural authority concerning education and welfare of their children," he said, and asked the board to provide parents with access to curriculum outlines, major assignments, and notification about non‑emergency counseling or therapy services.
Cindy Ma also spoke in support and recounted classroom materials and assemblies she described as inappropriate; she asked the board to pass a parental-rights policy and referred to "policy 5756" as a prior point of concern. She said parents deserve transparency and options, and urged the board to act.
The presiding board member responded that the policy committee and administration will examine the policy the speakers mentioned and keep them updated. The board did not take immediate action to adopt a Parental Bill of Rights during the meeting; the matter will be reviewed by the policy committee.
