MBIs director said the organization recently opened a pilot bio-manufacturing center, offering larger suites (about 1,000 to a few thousand square feet) to help companies scale toward commercial manufacturing.
"Most recently, we just opened up our pilot bio manufacturing center, and that is even larger spaces ... that's like a couple thousand square feet, 1000 square feet to kinda get you ready to go to the private market eventually," the director said, explaining the center's role in scaling firms that require more floor space and manufacturing workflows.
The director added that several tenant companies in the pilot center are in early-stage clinical trials, which she cited as a marker that incubated companies can progress to clinical development and commercialization.
