Carroll Consolidated board approves multiple hires and accepts resignations ahead of 2026–27 school year

A staff member presenting personnel items told the board, “We have Laura Reffitt, who is special ed para and bus driver, effective 07/31/2026” and named other departures. In the same series of votes the board approved new hires, including Tara Hall as a 0.333 grade teacher entering the salary grid at Row D with an early literacy endorsement at $45,365, and Denise Curran as a Carroll Jr./Sr. High School business teacher at Row I, $50,000. The board also approved Courtney Jernigan as a full-time bus driver and named Brianne Ashenfelter as the school health assistant for the coming school year.
Board members also authorized staff to hire for open positions before the next regular meeting in August. The staff presenter reported three remaining vacancies: a 0.167 grade teacher at the elementary, a math teacher at Carroll Jr./Sr. High, and a paraprofessional at the elementary, and said principals already have interviews scheduled.
