Rio Communities to move $703,000 into general fund after grant reimbursements; $50,000 allocated for fire apparatus

The finance officer told council that several project budgets came in under expenditures and that grant reimbursements are matching those expenditures, providing funds that can be transferred back into the general fund.
"So we're gonna transfer out $703,000 from that fund back into general fund," the finance officer explained, saying the amount represents reimbursements tied to project spending. She added the packet shows a grant reimbursement amount of $1,006,492.92.
The finance officer also noted that $50,000 in the state legislative appropriation project is allocated for fire equipment/apparatus related to the recent purchase of a fire truck. In addition, county fire gross receipts tax receipts rose by $1,029.15, which was reflected in the packet.
Councilors accepted the explanation and moved to approve the overall resolution that incorporates these transfers and reimbursements; the measure passed 4–0.
