At the meeting the chair read Ordinance 2025-02 for a first reading and the board approved the measure. The ordinance would supplementally appropriate donations ($1,052), insurance settlements ($2,975), proceeds from scrap sales ($285.60) and authorize a $29,525 transfer from the Water Meter Fund to the Water Fund, totaling $33,837.60 to be added to the town’s books.
The board also held a first reading of Appropriation Ordinance 2025-003, which included line items for general government, public works, sanitation, the community center and water-related funds. The chair discussed the water surcharge phase 2 fund, an expected loan draw of approximately $1,314,000 once construction starts, and a proposed $15,000 transfer from reserves to fund heating/air investments for town buildings in 2026. Trustees approved the first reading by voice vote.
