Henry Bibelheimer, Development Services, presented the petition to annex about 33.64 acres at 5599 West 19th Avenue and to zone it RSS to align with the adjacent Golden Oaks neighborhood. "Police and fire would start to immediately cover the site," Bibelheimer said, and he added that once developed the property could tie into city sewer, wastewater, electric and trash services.
Aaron Ferguson of Bancroft Design, speaking for the applicant, said the annexation is intended to allow access to city utilities and that a PUD, if required, would come later. Planning Commission recommended approval 5–0 on July 7; council approved the annexation and advanced the related ordinance (Ordinance 36-19) to second reading by a 4–0 vote.
