A Fall River Elementary presenter reviewed the school's strategic-plan goals and recent year-over-year gains: math proficiency reportedly rose from 49% to 60%, reading from 31% to 44%, and science from 8% to 29%. "We are the highest in the county," the presenter said, noting the school met annual targets in academic achievement and highlighted strengths in phonics and phonemic awareness.
The presenter also described attendance and family-engagement strategies: Pep Club meetings where staff review I-Ready data with parents, math and reading manipulatives sent home, porch visits to connect with families at the start of the year, and partnerships that supply monthly food bags for students. The presentation included a grade-level breakdown of I-Ready reading and math status, chronic-absence percentages by grade, and a request for board members to consider judging the county science fair and to note upcoming apprenticeship and social-studies adoption activities.
