Administrator highlights All-America Cities effort, survey results and drought conditions

Planning staff then reported that the city's first community input survey for the comprehensive plan has received over 500 responses in about 40 days, with social media driving roughly 75% of participation. Staff said questions revealed traffic congestion and desire for more green space among top concerns and that planning commission will select a steering committee in early August. Emrick closed by warning that Conway is "between 10 and 12 inches behind normal rainfall," described drought steps already taken (e.g., splash pad turned off) and said staff are considering further conservation measures; declaring a state of emergency would be a last resort.
