Logan County board approves three new policies in third reading, 4–0
Summary

During the business portion of the April 21 meeting, the superintendent presented three new district policies prepared under recently passed legislation and recommended for adoption in their third and final reading.
A board member moved to approve the new policies (identified on the record under category F with the read-aloud reference numbers). After no questions or discussion, the chair called for a voice vote. "All those in favor of approving the new policies, listed under F, in their 3rd and final reading, indicate by saying aye," the chair said; the board responded and the motion passed 4–0.
Board members did not request amendments and no public speakers addressed the policies. The superintendent said the items were presented separately because they are distinct policy actions and that the district will incorporate required statutory changes into local policies going forward.
The board also discussed how state law supersedes board policy until a local policy is updated, and members emphasized the need to keep policies current with legislative changes.
