Staff explained that statutory notice and publication steps required for a condemnation/resolution process would extend beyond Dec. 1 and recommended beginning the formal process to ensure compliance if the owner fails to remove the structure.
A motion by S9 to approve a resolution to start the petition for condemnation was seconded and carried by voice vote. Staff said they would begin the required public-notice steps and proceed according to established code-enforcement timelines.
