Councilor S7 introduced the request and framed it against the backdrop of recent budget discussions; councilors reiterated prior direction to avoid permit fee waivers during the current budget cycle. “When we said no, no extra budget, we need no, no,” S6 said in response (S6). A motion by S6 to deny the waiver was seconded and carried by voice vote.
Council asked staff to record the decision and provide guidance to the group about the standard permitting process; no alternative funding or fee-reduction pathways were approved at the meeting.
