Council approves new three-way stop at 11th Street intersections to address safety

Staff member S11 described complaints about children and drivers not slowing after school and recommended a three-way stop to slow traffic. “After going out there and looking at it my recommendation is just making a 3 way stop,” S11 said (S11). Council members discussed related intersections, enforcement challenges, and cost considerations.
A motion by S6 to install stop signs at Spring and Prospect at 11th Street was seconded and carried by voice vote. Council also asked residents to email concerns about other intersections so staff could perform additional reviews. The council directed staff to proceed with signage and to track costs associated with installation.
