Morristown Athletics honor retiring director Smitty Horton

Coaches framed Horton’s contribution as operational (scheduling, logistics) and cultural (recruiting and mentoring coaches) rather than policy-making.
No formal board action accompanied the tribute; the recognition was ceremonial. The district invited attendees to a brief reception in the lobby following the presentations.
