The UDO draft includes a new review-and-approval chart that would allow Planning & Zoning (P&Z) to approve minor subdivisions without taking them to council, while major subdivisions would continue to be forwarded to council with P&Z recommendations. Aaron Fortner presented the procedural change and explained the distinction between minor and major subdivisions.
Council Member Michael Taylor said he wants every subdivision request to appear before the council regardless of whether P&Z treats it as minor or major. No formal change was adopted during the work session; staff will consider council direction when preparing the ordinance language for the regular meeting.
