One component of the UDO amendments discussed on March 3, 2025 would relax building-material restrictions to allow certain vinyl products except inside designated historic districts. Aaron Fortner of Canvas Planning said the change is intended to provide flexibility while protecting designated historic areas.
Mr. Fortner recommended that the ordinance include specific language identifying the types and quality standards for vinyl that would be permitted. Council did not adopt final text during the work session and asked staff to return revised wording based on council feedback.
