As part of the Unified Development Ordinance amendments discussed March 3, 2025, the draft would change the General Industrial district label (G-I) to General Light Industrial (G-LI) and proposes removing a previously stated height limit. The change was presented by Aaron Fortner of Canvas Planning as part of a larger package of ordinance revisions.
Council members expressed concern about eliminating the height cap. Council Member Michael Taylor said the council should retain a height limit and requested staff research on height-limit options; Mr. Fortner agreed to look into possible provisions and return recommended language for council consideration.
