Greensburg-Hempfield library highlights digital literacy programs, wins Keystone Grant for building repairs

Jamie Falo of the Greensburg-Hempfield Library spoke during the public-comment portion to thank the board for ongoing support of public libraries and to describe recent accomplishments in digital literacy, workforce development and youth robotics programs. "These programs help build critical technology skills that prepare participants for future educational and career opportunities," Falo said.
Falo also said the Greensburg Hempfield Area Library received a Keystone Grant from the Office of Commonwealth Libraries to replace original windows, modernize a nearly 50-year-old elevator, and address roof and water infiltration issues. She described ongoing Summer Reading programs and highlighted the library's role in offering computer access, Wi-Fi, and community programming.
Why it matters: Falo framed libraries as community technology hubs and workforce partners; the grant funding will support preservation and accessibility upgrades at a historic public building in the county.
