Stormwater department reports 100% audit pass; public events and Central Avenue project updates announced

Frank Krebs, the stormwater representative, told the council that the city’s stormwater program passed an audit (MCM 1, 2, 3, and 6) on June 4 with no marks or deficiencies — the first time the city achieved a 100% pass. He credited staff and partners for the result and said crews had moved more than 60 yards of waste with street-sweeper operations.
Krebs also provided project updates: Central Avenue work paused due to recent rains and Greenwood Construction responding to an emergency elsewhere; he said the project should finish soon once the contractor returns. He announced a Riverview Park back-to-school event on Aug. 8 and a Lake Station Community Yard Sale on Aug. 1, inviting residents to sign up. “This is the 1st time we passed with a 100%,” Krebs said, thanking staff and volunteers for the effort.
