The City of Jonesboro Public Safety Council Committee voted to forward Ordinance 26,024 to the full City Council after a brief presentation and no objections.
The ordinance, introduced by the chair, would install stop signs at several intersections — Hansen Street at Crockett Drive; Hansen Street at Milo Court (north and south); Hansen Street at Young Drive; Milo Court at Jordan Street; Jordan Street at Crockett Drive; and Jordan Street at Young Drive (north and south). It also proposes establishing a 25 mph speed limit on West Country Club Terrace, following recommendations from the traffic control committee. "I have a motion to forward this item on to full council," the Chair said when calling the motion; a second was recorded and the chair later noted the item passed committee and will move to full council.
The committee recorded six yes votes on the motion to forward the ordinance. No committee members raised questions during the discussion, and no public comments were offered on the item. The ordinance will next appear on the full City Council agenda for further consideration and any required readings or votes.
