Board approves intergovernmental police services agreement with University of Arkansas Community College at Hope-Texarkana

Chief introduced a memorandum of understanding between the Texarkana Police Department (TAPD) and the University of Arkansas Community College at Hope–Texarkana Police Department that would allow both agencies to voluntarily assist each other under the Arkansas Interlocal Cooperation Act. The city attorney read the resolution authorizing the city manager to execute the intergovernmental agreement.
Board members had no substantive questions and moved, seconded and unanimously adopted the resolution authorizing the city manager to execute the MOU. The resolution language cited the Interlocal Cooperation Act and confirmed mutual assistance was voluntary and for the purposes set forth in the agreement.
