Commissioners approve amendment to tower-site agreement with Ray Shoemaker Radio Equipment

A county representative asked the board to approve an amendment to an existing 2003 agreement with Ray Shoemaker Radio Equipment to adjust the annual fee for use of county radio-tower property. The presenter said the change raises the county payment from $500 per year to $1,000 per year and also proposes lengthening the interval for replacing stone on the access roadway from every two years to every five years.
"They've asked for an amendment to have that adjusted to $1,000," the presenter said, explaining that a market comparison shows the amended fee remains inexpensive compared with other counties. The presenter also noted the amendment would add alternative communications contacts so others could be reached if the primary contact is unavailable. The board moved, seconded and approved the amendment.
