"Think of opportunities in our parks. What are we missing?" the liaison said as she opened the discussion.
Staff noted that some items (exercise equipment and bridge replacement) are already in the city's capital improvement plan, while the splash pad had been removed after the council previously indicated no desire to build one. Commissioners debated regional alternatives, grants, and options for dedicated versus shared facilities (for example, dedicated outdoor pickleball courts versus multiuse courts). Staff will bring the CIP to the commission at the September meeting for focused feedback that could be forwarded to council.
