The Town of Buffalo Gap Board of Trustees approved Resolution 2025-207 on Nov. 3, finalizing a schedule of water service deposits, fees and rates to take effect Jan. 1, 2026. Chair Christine Moss read the ordinance title and the board voted to adopt the resolution on the first reading.
Chair Christine Moss summarized the major items in the resolution, saying the schedule includes "a security deposit $100, new service connection fee $25 ... minimum monthly water use fee $9 up to 30,000 gallons per pit" and an additional monthly water-use fee of $3 per 1,000 gallons beyond that threshold. The resolution also lists a $15 standby fee, a $15 late fee, a $40 return-check fee and a $22 sanitation fee per trash can.
Trustee discussion addressed how the ordinance handles disconnects and reconnects; the chair said the ordinance gives the board discretion to waive a reconnect fee for customers who demonstrate hardship. The board approved the resolution on the floor and recorded the action as carried.
