COC board adopts compensation for people with lived experience, funding policy and voucher preference

Lacey reported several governance actions by the Continuum of Care board taken since the last update. The board adopted a plan to compensate people with lived experience for committee and board work and approved a funding policy outlining application processes and conflict‑of‑interest procedures for funding committees.
The board also approved a 'moving on' voucher preference that designates 50 vouchers for households graduating from supportive housing who still need a subsidy but no longer require supportive services. To comply with certain HUD NOFO requirements, the board approved creation of an additional board seat reserved for an elected official from the criminal legal system; the COC is recruiting for that seat.
Lacey said the committees remain open to adding members as appropriate and that staff will continue to report on implementation details as they work through the interlocal and administrative steps needed to operationalize these policies.
