Council appoints Bill Mosley to Redevelopment & Housing Authority, approves event street closure and routine budget amendment

Council filled a vacancy on the Redevelopment and Housing Authority, appointing Bill Mosley to serve the remainder of the term expiring October 13, 2026; the motion by Stacey Haley, seconded by Todd Foreman, passed 6-0. Warner noted Councilman Dwight Evans was absent.
The council also approved a request from the Bedford Boys Tribute Center to close East Main Street for a wreath-laying ceremony on Saturday, June 6 from 5:45–7:15 p.m. and adopted a budget amendment to appropriate $7,907 received from VRSA (Virginia Risk Sharing Association) to cover repairs to a utility pole damaged October 9 at 813 East Main Street; both measures were approved unanimously.
