City communications listed citywide rummage sales for April 26 and bulk trash collection April 28–30. The utilities department reported routine maintenance including replacing an electric meter at senior housing, replacing a water meter at 901 4th, patching holes on Ness Road, and repairing a primary electrical line after a fallen tree.
Administratively, the city announced the filing period for the Nov. 4, 2025 election: two council seats, one unexpired two-year council seat and the mayor’s seat will be on the ballot. Interested candidates may file at the Labette County Courthouse; the filing fee is $20 and the filing deadline is June 2, 2025 by noon.
