Lt. Christian Powell submitted the police report noting numerous calls, including animal control, civil standbys/child exchanges, lake patrol and safety checks. Officers issued 17 warnings during the reporting period (11 for speed, five for equipment violations); no citations were listed and no KBI reports were filed.
Separately, the City Administrator reported the city is working with KPERS to move police officers into the KP&F Retirement System, with the affiliation set to become effective Jan. 1, 2025. The minutes record conditional offers for police candidates pending pre-employment testing.
