City staff told the council a new online utility-billing system is now available for residents to create accounts using their utility account numbers, view usage and pay bills online.
"You will create an account using your utility account number, and then you will have access to pay your bill and see your account details," the staff member said, explaining the system had been tested for months and is open for public use. Council members and participants asked whether the system supports autopay and whether credit-card information can be saved. One participant reported seeing a processing fee of about $4; another said it was $1.25 for a single test payment. Staff said they would research the fee and confirm if autopay or a saved-payment option will be available.
Council members asked staff to clarify costs to residents and to communicate whether lower-cost options (bank transfer, autopay) exist. Staff committed to follow up with details on processing fees and payment options.
