Mr. Styles updated the board on the YMCA project, saying the north parking lot has been completed and that east parking lots remain under construction; a ribbon cutting is scheduled July 31 and a community grand opening on Aug. 3. “The north parking lot has been completed,” Styles reported during his departmental update.
Board members followed the update with detailed questions about drainage and standing water. Multiple members described visible low spots and asked that engineers and contractors re‑inspect the area; engineers and representatives from Commonwealth and First Capital were named as having inspected or been on site. The board requested an on‑site walkthrough with district staff and the contractors to identify and correct ponding before the district formally assumes responsibility for operations at the site.
