Board welcomes new communications director and principal

The board paused business to introduce two new district leaders. Mrs. Brown introduced Briana Estrada as director of communications, citing nine years of experience in public education, communications and partnership development and prior work as a multimedia specialist for Judson ISD. The board welcomed Estrada with applause.
Mrs. Brown also introduced Christina Johnson as the new principal of Charles Actton Leadership Academy for the 2026–27 school year. Johnson’s background noted 12 years in education, prior service as assistant principal at Actton Elementary and degrees including a master’s in education administration and policy studies. Trustees and staff congratulated both leaders and invited friends and family to stand during the introductions.
