"My recommendation is gaming systems are set up for all ages," the city manager said in the discussion, raising the prospect of children and adults sharing the same open room. Councilor Roscoe moved to deny the permit, Councilor Campos seconded, and the motion carried unanimously.
Councilors who opposed the permit pointed to prior after-hours concerns with other BYOB-type venues and the practical difficulty of ensuring only adults consume alcohol in an open, family-oriented gaming space. The denial is final from this meeting; the applicant may pursue other licensing routes consistent with state law.
