Sammy Oswitz said that many residents are unable to attend a 7 p.m. Tuesday meeting because of work and family commitments, so the city should proactively provide information and engagement opportunities. "I've even done flying. I've put out public polls in every business that would allow me to hand them because at the end of the day, you have to meet citizens where they're at," he said.
Oswitz said he's active on multiple social platforms and neighborhood apps to increase awareness and to give residents simple next steps to engage with city issues. He argued greater accessibility to information would empower citizens and help build trust between the community and city officials.
