Sammy Oswitz urged stronger collaboration between the city, the county and the board of education, pointing to existing quarterly joint meetings and urging a step forward toward joint forecasting and action. "Let's come together. Let's make a plan and act accordingly beyond just discussing what's happening and next steps," he said, calling for more coordinated long-term planning.
On annexation, Oswitz said the city has available property and buildings to pursue growth without pursuing further expansion that could infringe on residents in outlying areas. He said he does not believe the city needs to continue pursuing annexation at this time and preferred using existing assets to support growth.
