The St. Francois County Commission voted to allow Auto Agent, a third‑party payment vendor, to offer installment payment plans to county taxpayers for real estate and personal property taxes.
Collector's office staff (Angie Esri, speaker 9) described the service as a no‑cost option to the county: taxpayers would enroll on Auto Agent's website and the vendor would process payments and provide reports to the county. "They just keep adding also more services," the collector's office said. "This company's service will also include the personal property ... there will be no cost to the county."
Commissioners approved the motion to allow Auto Agent to operate in the county and directed staff to proceed with implementation and outreach, including providing informational materials on the county website. Staff said Auto Agent will deposit payments into the county's existing accounts and can provide reporting for reconciliation; any customer fees charged by the vendor would be between the taxpayer and Auto Agent.
