Mariposa Village draws heavy demand; developers and housing authority detail $76 million project costs

"Right now we have 787 households on the waiting list for Mariposa Village and... 60% of those households are on the list for studio and one bedrooms," she said.
Panelists also discussed financing and construction costs. Karen Long said the overall project cost was roughly $76 million, financed mostly with state and federal sources, and that the city contributed about $1.7 million in land or funds toward the project. Those numbers were raised to show how a local bond could be used to supplement public funding and support a wider mix of unit sizes and affordability bands.
The meeting emphasized that demand patterns at Mariposa are being fed back into planning for future projects so providers can better match unit sizes to local needs.
