City reports water-rights transfer completed; new rights to appear on state site in July

Staff reported water-rights transfers for the nutrient property were completed after a Department of Water Resources visit; most drinking-water and hydro-plant rights are secure and new entries should appear on the state's website by July 1.
Director Squires told the council that staff visited the Idaho Department of Water Resources and identified several water-right issues tied to a recently acquired property. He said transfers for the disputed rights were completed to protect them from dormancy and that most other drinking-water and hydro plant rights were already in the city's name.
Squires said some irrigation acreage needed minor adjustment for Kelly Park but that the issue was resolved and added: "It'll be about July, 1st of July before they're officially on the water resources website and everybody can see where they're at and their status." The council did not take formal action beyond receiving the report; staff will monitor the administrative listing and, if needed, pursue point-of-diversion adjustments.
