Lainie Paquette, executive director of Main Street of Fremont, presented the organization's annual report and highlighted downtown reinvestment and programming outcomes.
Paquette said the organization tracked $391,062 in reinvestment that combined grant-funded facade improvements, private match contributions and volunteer hours (valued at $34.79 per hour for the report's calculation). She told council that CDBG funding supported several facade projects, the Empress Theater and Nebraska Quilt Company work were notable examples, and that five new businesses opened during the year, creating 17 jobs. Paquette also described new programming called "Main Street Mangools" designed to support entrepreneurs.
Councilman Horner praised the metrics and moved to receive the report; Councilwoman Gannon seconded, and the motion carried 8–0 as recorded in the meeting minutes.
